The FIB’ers continue to be blessed as five club members and two friends took a group of Olive Crest kids fishing on the Sum Fun Sportboat last night out of Dana Point from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There were only a few of them who knew how to fish and the others had never fished before. After the kids had a quick crash course while we headed out to the fishing grounds on how to catch a bait out of the tank, hook their bait, learn how to use their rod and reel and cast out, all of them were more than ready to catch fish!
We traveled north of the harbor and ended up dropping the anchor at Salt Creek. It was an immediate bite when the first bait hit the water and it was a wide open bite that stayed the entire time we were there and the FIB’ers kept busy helping release all the fish and assisting the kids to catch another. It was so much fun to see how excitable these kids got catching fish for the first time and some never left the rail all night! To top it off, we had beautiful weather and calm water where it actually felt like summer for once…. Truly blessed!
Big thank you goes out to Capt Travis Weber and his crew for putting us on the fish and a fun time.
Here are a few pics that I could share as Olive Crest policy prohibits taking face photos of any of their kids
